From Violent Roommate to Funny Roommate
There is nothing worse than realizing suddenly that your roommate is not who you thought they were and that they are actually a bit on the violent side. This person found out the hard way when their roommate punched a hole in the wall. Understandably, they got rid of that roommate and looked for a replacement. From the looks of it, they found the perfect person, if you are judging just by the art they made in the hole in the wall.
They managed to take something that was a bit on the alarming side and turn it into something that everyone can appreciate and laugh about.
Peeping Snowman
It is so much fun to scare your friends. Of course, in an innocent and silly way. And that is just what this house decided to do. They went out into the snow to build a snowman. Instead of building just any ordinary snowman, they decided to build one that was a little bit creepy, staring into the room of one of their roommates. It's the Peeping Tom Snowman.
They did a pretty good job of creating this snowman. After all, he looks pretty realistic, and he's pretty scary at night and during the day.
The Cat Took Advantage of Their Bad Communication
If you ever doubted a cat's intelligence, it is time to think again. This cat, who really enjoyed his yummy little treats and lots of food, decided to take advantage of the fact that he was living in a home with four people. He would go up to all of the people and beg them for food, which caused him to gain a lot of weight over the course of a few months.
The roommates had to set up a chart to mark who had fed the cat so that they would not continue to overfeed the sneaky creature.
All the Eggs Are Watching You
Can you imagine opening up the egg carton to see this? There are a ton of eggs just staring at you. It's hard to tell if this person's roommate did this just for a good laugh or if maybe they are vegan and trying to push their agenda onto their roommate and convince them to become vegan. Assuming it's the first, it's a pretty funny little joke, and it is somehow cute, too.
That is probably exactly how the roommate's face looked when they opened the egg carton for the first time and saw the eggs staring back at him.
The Note From Martin Spooner King
One of the biggest sources of disagreements from roommates (and even romantic partners) surrounds the dishes. Just imagine a world where no one had to do the dishes, and the amount of arguments would certainly decrease. This roommate was getting fed up with seeing a ridiculous amount of dishes in the sink, and so he put up this note: "I have a dream that one day the dishes will be done not by those who need them, but by those that created them."
It was signed "Martin Spooner King." You have to give this person lots of extra points just from the creative side.
Is It a Mannequin or a Ghost?
There is probably no one on earth who would see this mannequin in the room and not think that it was a burglar or a murderer. That was exactly the plan set out by this person, and he couldn't wait until his roommates came home so that he could see their reactions to the scary hooded person in the corner of the kitchen. He should have filmed all of their reactions.
He even went so far as to dress the mannequin up so that it would look like a real person and not just be a shadow. The roommates must have been so scared when they tried to talk to it, but it never answered.
Tinder Dates Don't Get Food
Although it seems like a wild concept that a Tinder date would come over to someone's house and then try to eat the roommate's food, apparently, that has happened quite a lot to this girl, and she was not going to have any more of it. To try to prevent it, she wrote a very aggressive sticky note, which she placed on the fridge for all of her roommates' Tinder dates.
She made it quite clear that they had no right to eat her food, and you can only hope that they listened to the note as she seems pretty passionate about this.
Giving Personality to the Humidifier
There is nothing better than giving a face and a personality to inanimate objects. After all, this was just a boring old humidifier that was sitting in the living room, but with the help of a piece of paper and some colored pens, it gained a personality and even maybe a name. And now, anyone who sees this will probably smile and laugh. This person's roommate seems like a keeper.
The funniest part would be if they went through the house and put faces and eyes on multiple inanimate objects. It would be creepy but also funny.
The Prank of Pranks
While some people like to tin foil the entire room while a roommate is gone, this person took their pranks and evilness to a new level. They decided to remove the batteries of every device that they had in the house and replace them with tootsie rolls. Some of them probably noticed right away, but others probably took a bit more time for them to figure out. However, the frustration level would be high regardless.
This is a nice and simple prank that is also funny. It causes no damage but makes for some laughable moments.

Are two people even roommates if they don't try to troll one another every now and then? This roommate was at the library with his friend and roommate when he noticed that he fell asleep at the table. That is when he went to get a copy of "Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian" to open in front of him and make it seem like he was reading it before he fell asleep.
Of course, he had to document the moment with a photo. Now, he can show it to his other roommates or send it to his roommate's group chat, and they can all laugh about it.
The Perfect Hiding Spot for Alcohol
It is pretty frustrating when you find out that your roommates are using your things. Whether it is your beauty products or eating your food, you want your things to be your things and for them to remain untouched. This person noticed that their roommates were drinking their alcohol. They found a solution to prevent that by placing the alcohol in the dishwasher, which no one ever used, so it would be safe.
It looks like it was safe for a while, but then someone decided to open the dishwasher (maybe to use it for the first time), and all of the alcohol was discovered.

Life can be challenging in a dorm. Things are not always just fun parties and wild nights. There are lots of frustrations, such as loud noise, annoying people, and, most of all, the bathrooms. Having communal bathrooms is not ideal at any stage of life, and this person seemed to be pretty fed up with the mess left behind by some of the bathroom's users. That is why he created this passive-aggressive whiteboard message.
You have to appreciate the humor that was involved in this while he also seemed to get his message across. He does not seem happy.
This Person's Roommate Is Also an Entrepreneur
If there is one thing that is important for the vast majority of people in this world, then it is to have a convenient and comfortable way to hold a phone. This is especially the case if there is not a TV in the room. That is just why this person felt the need to set up a cheap and simple DIY that allowed him to use his phone without actually holding it.
It may not be the prettiest setup, but it is definitely a functional one. He also doesn't have to strain his neck too much to see the screen. Win-win.

Now, this is the troll of all trolls. These roommates noticed that one of their friends was bringing home a very high number of girls back to his room. As a result, they decided to set up this survey, which they insisted on placing outside of his room. They called it "Isaac's Post-Coital Survey," and while it is funny to think that they set this up, it would be even funnier to see the results.
The survey set the standards pretty low for their friend Isaac, and for the girls he was bringing home. Any girl who saw this probably ran immediately.
When One of You Celebrates Christmas and the Other Celebrates Hanukkah

These two roommates are the perfect example of kindness and thoughtfulness, displayed in a sweet and cute way. One of the roommates celebrated Christmas, and another celebrated Hanukkah, so they decided to decorate their apartment with a Christmas tree in the shape of a Hanukkah menorah so that they could both participate.
They actually managed to make a pretty visually appealing Christmas Tree-Hanukkah Menorah. It really looks like both of them at the same time. They should sell these in the stores for inter-faith couples.
The Car Is Barricaded in by a Snow Wall
It seems like someone was a little jealous of their roommate, who managed to go on a long cruise in the tropics right when a massive snowstorm hit home. As petty revenge and a funny, practical joke, the person's roommates decided to set up a little snow barricade in order to make the person's life a bit more difficult when they came back and tried to go for a drive.
When the roommate gets home, they should just use all of these as snowballs to throw at their friends at any given moment. It will be a constant surprise, as long as they don't need their car urgently.
Paying the Rent in the Strangest Ways
And here you have another example of a roommate who is trolling their friend and roommate. They make an effort each month when they pay them the rent to pay them in the strangest and most inconvenient ways. This month, they decided to go to the bank and ask for all $1 bills. They then left a funny note along with it saying, "I had to do some things I'm not proud of to make rent this month."
They left the words "Don't ask" at the bottom, which is signed by their name. It's obvious that it's a joke, but those ones are going to be very annoying for the roommate.
A Little Bit of Roommate Shaming Never Hurt Anybody
Everyone has seen the photos of "dog shaming" when someone puts up a sign next to a dog explaining the naughty thing that they did. Well, this person has done the same except for their roommate. They put a sign next to their passed-out roommate that read, "I get drunk and leave pizza in the oven all night." They made sure to get the photo with the burnt-to-a-crisp pizza right next to him.
The roommate probably woke up (although most likely quite hungover) a bit confused to see a fried pizza next to him. But once he saw the photo and the sign, he probably understood and thought it was funny.
Just Change the Toilet Paper
One of the most frustrating and potentially catastrophic things that could happen in the bathroom is to run out of toilet paper. While some people may not be too concerned about this, many people hate worrying about taking the risk. That is why they do everything they can to have the people they are living with also change the toilet paper whenever it runs out. This person went so far as to put a sign as a reminder.
The roommate seemed to be pretty inconsiderate and made it quite clear that they wouldn't be changing the toilet paper any time soon. Maybe they should just make sure there is no toilet paper in the bathroom when they have to go, and that will eventually change their mind.
The Most Irritating Prank
It seems that some roommates like to take their pranks to the next level. Instead of just getting a fly ice cube or a fake spider to put around the house, this person chose to take it up a notch. They decided to tin foil the entire room of the roommate so that it would be a complete surprise for them when they got home. It's a pretty strange prank, though, as it doesn't really accomplish much.
If anything, they helped to keep the room clean while the person was gone. It's a bit of cleanup but probably more hassle for the person who did it.

While you might think at first glance that this is a very sweet way to greet someone new who is moving into the apartment, upon further investigation, you realize that this could not be farther from the case. Despite the yellow flowers and cake, there is a hint of snarkiness in the wording on the cake. It is clearly a joke, but it is funny to see this as a welcome for the roommate's boyfriend, who was moving in with them.
If they really didn't like the person, then they probably wouldn't have put any effort into baking or buying a cake and adding some cute flowers.

One of the difficulties of living with someone is deciding how to design and decorate main rooms and common spaces. In each person's room, people can decide on their own how they want to decorate, but when it comes to art and the like, people have different opinions. This person was always accused of having poor taste in art, and maybe they just proved that with this picture of Zapp Brannigan.
Perhaps the worst part of this is that they didn't even manage to center the picture and frame over the fireplace. A bad piece of art is forgivable but not a mis-centered one.
When Your Roommate Vacuum Seals Everything in the House
While food savers can be a great addition to any house, there are limits to how and when they should be used. Just to clarify, a food saver is something that is used to vacuum pack food so that it lasts longer. This person chose to get one for the house, and they went a little wild with the usage, vacuum sealing everything they came in contact with, including a pair of scissors.
The worst part about this is that they probably couldn't open any of the packages because he didn't have scissors. What was he supposed to do? Maybe it was a plan to keep him away from all the food.
That Person Who Throws Away All the Dishes to Avoid Washing Them
Not everyone who lives with roommates is willing to share all of their belongings with them. While most people agree to share kitchen supplies and utensils with their roommates, it is usually under the circumstance that they are cleaned after use. This person would use their roommate's dishes and then be too lazy to clean them afterward. Instead of washing them or even leaving them in the sink, they would just throw them out.
This is wild on the grounds of the fact that they are not even their dishes to throw away, and how lazy can someone be to not just wash them after use? What a waste!
A Funny and Cute Christmas Card
While most people reserve the sending of Christmas cards to their friends and family for well more of a couple or family photo, these roommates thought it would be funny to send a quirky Christmas card of two roommates. They knew very well that the overwhelming view from everyone who received the card would be that he was now in a romantic relationship with his roommate, but that was just a part of the joke.
They made sure to pose in a way that made it look like they were more than just friends as they sent out this joint Christmas card.
Selfie With the Roommate's Cat
If you are a pet lover, then one of the best things to do is to get a roommate with a pet. Of course, it would be better if you had a pet of your own, but not everyone can handle the responsibility, and that is why they attach themselves to their roommates' pets. This man decided to dress up in matching hoodies (matching the cat) and take a timeless selfie.
It's hard to even say who the cat belongs to at that point. It seems like they will have to share custody for the rest of their lives, even if they don't live together.
Setting up Life Goals
While you might think when you first read this sign that this person set some pretty low life goals for themselves, it seems like they are struggling to even keep those. The goals consist of "be human, breathe, and don't lose socks." While the first two he cannot stop doing if he is alive, the last one is the only real goal. And from the looks of it, he is losing socks just about every day.
Maybe this person has a dog that loves socks, and that is why he loses at least one sock a day. The dog has a massive sock hoard somewhere hidden.
The Cornflakes Were Nothing Like Frosted Flakes
One of the roommates in the house went to buy a box of cereal. While it is safe to assume that the roommate had a preference for Frosted Flakes, they decided to get some Corn Flakes instead. The roommate turned around and created a passive-aggressive (although quite funny) message for his roommate to see when he went to the cereal box next. He drew a cat and wrote, "They're Adequate."
He wanted to make it clear that the Corn Flakes would never be "Greeeaaat," just like Tony the Frosted Flakes tiger would say.
The Dog With No Personal Space
While some people love animals that like to cuddle, others need their personal space. If you are part of the latter group, then you probably would never want to live in this household, as this person's roommate's dog has no concept of personal space. She is always climbing on top of people and things and going wherever she wants, even though she isn't a particularly small dog. She rules the roost!
From the looks of it, this roommate isn't too thrilled about it. You can only hope that she is a dog person and will learn to love the cute behavior.
Never Stop Dreaming Shower Curtain
There are plenty of people who like to put quirky or kitschy little signs throughout their homes. "Live, Love, Laugh" or "Home Sweet Home" are some of the most common. When this roommate was told that she could be in charge of picking the shower curtain, no one would have ever thought that this would be the shower curtain of choice. After all, where did she even manage to find this unique piece?
It almost seems like she went online and ordered this to be custom-made. After all, why would many people buy a shower curtain of a giraffe riding a whale with a sword saying, "never stop dreaming?"
An Interesting Drunk Message
This roommate seemed to have had quite a few too many drinks, and he wreaked havoc on the apartment. At least he had the decency in his drunkenness to try to warn his roommates, but it seemed like there was still some damage done. At least two shot glasses were broken, according to the note, and he knocked the dart board over and possibly broke it. He tried to clean up the glass but didn't do a great job.
He even included a little diagram and focus area that showed his blood, proving to his roommates that there were pieces of glass hidden all around.
When You're Concerned About Your Roommate's Well-Being
Being someone's roommate may not come with that much responsibility, but it also comes with just a little bit, especially considering that most people are also friends with their roommates. This person hadn't seen their roommate in at least five days, and they wanted to make sure that everyone knew that he was alive and well. That is why he wrote a little note on a post-it that he placed on his door.
It was a note with a few words, and it simply said "Still Alive," signed by Ben. At least it is enough to know that he is doing alright overall.
Donuts as a Thank You
Not all roommates end up being horror stories that you tell your friends and children about in the future. Sometimes, roommates can be quite a blessing. This person's roommate realized that she was very loud the night before (maybe she had a small party or had a particularly rowdy guest over), but she wanted to make it up to her friend and loving partner. She bought a box of donuts and wrote a little apology.
That is a lot of donuts for someone who just made a little bit of noise. She seems like the type of person that you would want to live with!
The Most Enormous Refrigerator Magnet
It is hard to say what is more alarming when you look at this photo. Is it the fact that there is a massive magnet in the shape of a shark fin plastered in this person's refrigerator? Or is it the fact that it belongs to Domino's Pizza? Or maybe it is the fact that someone managed to find a magnet that large in the first place. Whichever it might be, it is impressive that someone located this magnet shark fin.
They made it their goal to find the largest magnets to put on the fridge, and they seem to have been successful!
Find the Hidden John Cena Action Figure
There is nothing like coming up with a fun and harmless game that you can play with your roommate on a day-to-day basis. This roommate duo came up with a cute game where they would hide a small John Cena action figure around the house. They would then check to see how long it would take for the other person to find the action figure. And the game repeated.
This one, not surprisingly, took a pretty long time to be discovered. Is that how someone wins the game if the other person never finds the action figure?
The Most Wild Practical Joke
You can only hope that the person who received this present for Christmas appreciated dark humor. After all, there was a lot of risk involved in this gift. For a little context, the person who was gifted a severed ear for Christmas was he himself born without an ear. Either this made him laugh hysterically or want to cry. You can only hope that the roommates understood him as a person.
It seems hard to imagine that anyone is insensitive enough to get someone a gift like this unless they are 100% certain that he would find it funny.
Love at First Snoop Dog Sight
While this may not be everyone's definition of a perfect roommate, this person was more than excited when he showed up to his dorm and saw that this is how his roommate had his portion of the room set up. Although he had doubts in the beginning, once he saw this, he knew immediately that they would get along. For some, a massive poster of Snoop Dog is enough to tell.
There are definitely other people who would see this and know immediately that they wouldn't get along. So they were lucky to be similar.
An Attempt to Save the Pizza for Later
You can never really explain the actions you do and the decisions that you make when you're drunk. This person was totally drunk, and they wanted to make sure they could save their piece of pizza for later. That is why they put it in the water bottle holder of their bicycle, folding it in to fit. They only noticed the next morning when it could no longer be consumed, so it would be mission unsuccessful.
It is good to know that a piece of pizza can be stored like this in case of an emergency. While it is not ideal, it does fit, and it seems to hold pretty well.
They Are Angry Only via Notes
There is nothing worse than passive aggressiveness when it comes to a living space. It is somehow better if someone is just all-out aggressive because then, at least, you know where you stand. However, these roommates only felt comfortable being aggressive with each other over notes; at least one of them and they could never talk about these issues face to face. She tried to put a stop to it as it was getting out of hand.
People really shouldn't have to resort to writing angry notes and putting them on the wall. There are much better ways to communicate if there are issues.
Googly Eyes on an X-Ray
There is nothing like having a friend who makes light of the most serious situation, bringing the overall tone down from dark and serious to light and funny. That is exactly what this person's roommate did by putting googly eyes on the image of their x-ray of something that was broken (maybe a wrist). At least maybe they would look at it and be able to laugh a little bit.
You have to admit that the end result is pretty comical. Just look at how it looks so much like a face with a smiling, open mouth underneath.
