If you're an avid social media user, you may have once (or twice) posted something without thinking, only to regret it later. Or you've come across posts from others that made you cringe as you questioned their logic. Either way, this article proves that you're not alone. These people shared their thoughts online without entirely thinking them through - and then got roasted for it. Keep reading to see several lack-of-judgment moments that will leave you feeling better about your internet mistakes.
They Don't Get Out Much
People sometimes confuse the most straightforward situation for things that make zero sense. This guy thought a car was inside his local bank and even posted the picture and question on social media. He was looking for a quick answer to his genuine question but was roasted by pretty much all of the online world. That should have been expected because it's pretty apparent there wasn't a car in there.
Clearly, it's just a reflection. But we're always grateful for the free entertainment.
We're Guessing No One at PETA Actually Played the Game
Pokémon Go was basically the most popular game ever around 2016, but it didn't last long. It could be because walking blocks on end just to capture a character became exhausting, even for the biggest Pokémon fans. The game was certainly short-lived, but that doesn't mean that PETA didn't have something to say about it. Although video games don't sound like their specialty, they oddly thought that the game was able to teach people the right way to treat animals.
And just like this person pointed out, it was pretty weird of PETA to endorse a game about capturing animals and forcing them to fight.
It's Time to Grow Up, so Throw Out That Umbrella
Sure, umbrellas can look silly sometimes, but most of us stop caring about what they look like when it's storming outside and we need to travel. There is no other way to stay completely protected from the rain (unless you want to wear a raincoat even on a summer day), so umbrellas are fantastic at getting the job done for kids, adults, and everyone in between. Do people think that this is something we grow out of?
Pay no attention to the first comment; umbrellas are made for people of all ages. This is because we don't become waterproof as soon as we enter adulthood.
They Got Nothing on Arabic Numerals, Though
Oh, ramen noodles. A college student's classic quick meal and perfect for anyone on the go. Sometimes, nothing beats a warm cup of noodles. This cup of noodles looked great until this person called them "roman numerals." After reading that, we became more confused than hungry, and you probably feel the same. Maybe this was an autocorrect mistake, or perhaps this person genuinely doesn't know that these are called ramen noodles.
The creators of this handy meal would probably be disappointed that someone accidentally gave the ancient Romans credit for making this cup of ramen noodles.
Dude, Just Flip the Numbers
This might be the one picture that could make you question all of humanity and our thinking. Or maybe you'll spare all of humankind and judge the individual who made this mistake. He intended to buy the numbers four and five to make forty-five, which is part of his home address. Well, they arrived in a different order, and he didn't realize that fixing this was incredibly easy. Instead, he got rid of them and bought a brand new pair.
The simplest of solutions is a bit difficult to find for some of us. But the funniest part is that, even after someone pointed out the simple solution, they answered that that'd be "too much messin' around."
Not the Most Poop-Ular Proposal
It took us a while to realize that there was a significant typo here. It would be fun to know how long it took for the couple to discover the issue, or maybe they don't even know that their picture has gone viral. Although still an extraordinary and celebratory moment, many people must have laughed very hard when they received this bag of popcorn at the bridal shower.
After realizing what went wrong in this picture, we now understand why someone commented that they are "so stinking" happy for this couple. You probably get it now, too. And if not, here it is: the newlyweds-to-be wrote, "He pooped the question!"
How to Steal a Credit Card 101
Whoever posted this on Twitter was a smart prankster who completed his mission. At one point, there was a trend where people would get others to post sensitive information like their internet passwords and, obviously, their credit card numbers on social media. They were so relaxed and casual about it, just like this guy; you almost want to believe it yourself. As you can tell, at least one person fell for it.
This was a sinister prank that is also pretty funny. People fell for it and posted their credit card numbers only to find that they didn't get automatically censored. Time to cancel that card, mate!
The New Class Garden Is Looking a Bit Eerie
At first glance, you might think this was some kind of memorial or gravesite for young kids. Thankfully, it's nothing even close to that. The photo below is a kindergarten class's gardening activity. They used their students' pictures to mark their plants, and they probably shouldn't have. It was a cute activity that somehow ended up closely resembling a mass grave; there are even mounds of dirt that would confuse anyone who didn't know better.
You might have thought that you needed to get emotional in the beginning; thankfully, the only thing you need to worry about is whether or not plants grew in these spots.
Kids, Don't Skip Geography Class
This girl is saying goodbye to California, only to once again say hello to California as soon as she starts her first day of school. We don't need to explain why this tweet was a hundred percent wrong because it's pretty obvious. Hopefully, the university she was accepted to doesn't see this post and decides to take back her admission. It would be extreme, but not as extreme as this illogical caption.
We would like to know when exactly this new college student realized that San Francisco was, in fact, still in California and that she wasn't moving out of state to get her degree.
This Is Why Commas Matter
Sometimes, the use of proper punctuation just seriously changes everything, and that includes the meaning of the intended message itself. If you can't comprehend this picture, don't worry because it makes no sense. This is because commas were not placed where they should be; in fact, there are no commas. The only punctuation we see here are exclamation marks which, somehow, don't make anything better. According to this sign, only disabled elderly pregnant children can use the toilet. That's about 0% of the population.
So please, pay attention to your punctuation. Commas can save lives and bladders.
Bae Is Ripping Her off Worse Than the Mechanics Would
Not everyone is a car person, and these things can get complicated, which is why most people rely on professionals for help. But not this woman. She asked her boyfriend to change her car's oil and snapped a picture, only to show the world that he was putting cooking oil inside her vehicle. He may not be a car person, but we hoped he could tell the difference between the oils. We were wrong.
To make things short, this woman thinks her partner is doing a loving deed. In reality, he might just be destroying her car to the point where it could be unusable.
Caution: Raw Chicken May Cause Salmon Vanilla
This group wasn't joking around when it listed itself as "Keto for Beginners." This person who posted in the group is new to the idea of eating keto-style or maybe eating in general. They innocently inquired if anyone has "ever gotten salmon vanilla from chicken that's not fully cooked." Who's going to tell them that "salmon vanilla" is not a thing? We're pretty sure they meant salmonella, or maybe we're the ignorant ones.
But we can't even hate on the guy for not knowing what salmonella is; he made us laugh too hard, and we appreciate the heck out of him.
That's Between You and Your Doctor
The fact that they take cards only and can't give cash back is disappointing, but how they spelled "inconvenience" might make up for that. "Sorry for the incontinence," they wrote. Incontinence means having a lack of control over one's bladder - a private matter that customers certainly don't need to know. It was a simple spelling mistake that created an entirely new message. This is why spell check is always recommended for public posters.
There is a significant difference between "inconvenience" and "incontinence." Now we know that spelling can be just as important as correct punctuation.
She'll Need Some Ice for That Burn
Anyone can post and share anything they want with the rest of the world online. Most of the time, people look for compliments on their photos or captions. And many times, they run into judgments. That seems to be what happened here, and we hope this girl had some ice at hand for that burn. The internet, especially Twitter, is a lawless land that constantly finds new ways to surprise and make us laugh.
"How you gone upgrade me?" the girl who got roasted asked. "What's higher than the number 1?" A user then told her that almost every other number is higher than one.
"Can't Wait to Show My Mom My New Tattoo"
This tattoo wasn't checked to ensure the spelling was correct before it was permanently inked on this person's body. We're not sure who's to blame here; either the customer thought this was how to spell "angel," or the artist made a giant mistake - or both. We'll never know, but at least it resulted in a hilarious comment. Whoever wrote the comment about their dad being a protractor should win an award.
Some people truly have no interest in getting their tattoo ideas spell-checked before getting them permanently inked on their bodies, and that's unfortunate.
Math Is Hard
This person's social media post proves that even the most straightforward math can be challenging for some people. This French's Spicy Brown Mustard claims to have fifty percent more content inside than their twelve-ounce bottles. This person couldn't figure out how that was even possible since this was an 18-ounce container, which is clearly not the double of 12. Someone should let them know how fractions and percentages work.
Math can be challenging, even for people who need to use a bit of mustard. It makes sense that this can be confusing, but the math really does work out when you think about it.
Free Nintendo Code for Everyone
Nowadays, kids post everything online. And this child took it to the extreme by sharing a Nintendo code online, making it free and accessible to everyone. They then said that the code wasn't working anymore, and it was not hard to figure out why. Hopefully, they eventually realized their mistake after losing access to the code. This harsh lesson is sure to stick with them through life; they won't be sharing any passwords or codes on social media ever again.
The poster of this was probably a kid who didn't realize that pretty much everyone else would be able to claim his Nintendo code. Well, we hope it was a kid.
They Posted Asking Why the Candle Wouldn't Light...
This candle fail is super funny, mainly because you can see in the picture just how hard these people worked to get this thing to light. Unknowingly, all they actually had to do was put in some batteries and flip on a switch in order to get it working. However, it probably doesn't work anymore due to the number of times they've accidentally melted the plastic around the fake wick.
A total of three people couldn't figure out that this candle wouldn't light simply because it was battery-powered.
Dang, Our Kids Aren't Miserable Enough
Sometimes, different generations judge each other and are pretty harsh. For example, Generation Z and Baby Boomers are basically enemies. We don't even need to get started with how millennials feel about pretty much everyone else. We certainly have our differences, and in a way, it makes sense. But this headline proves just how problematic these tensions can be. "Kids these days have it a lot easier than we did growing up," it reads.
You would think that positively paving our way through time for future generations to have easier lives might be the goal of our human existence in the first place. And whoever retweeted this and wrote, "That's the goal tho right?" obviously agrees with us.
Abraham Lincoln Once Said, "Don't Believe Everything You Read on the Internet"
You might know that not everything you see on the internet is true. This is why online safety is necessary when it comes to keeping kids safe. Our children might just be having fun while watching videos, or they might see this post and then attempt to put a penny in the microwave. Of course, coins don't actually shrink in there. Instead, they ignite flames, and nobody wants that.
Whoever made this post just wanted to be the cause of a million housefires because that's exactly what this does. It causes a fire.
If Someone Looks at You Like This, Get Out
The name of this horror movie was Get Out for a very good reason. Without giving any spoilers, all we can say is that we don't think this guy would want a woman to look at him like this after watching the entire film. In fact, they would probably go back and delete this post with great confidence. At least, we hope that's what he would do if he saw the whole motion picture.
Whoever said they wanted someone to look at them the way she was looking at this guy definitely didn't watch the movie. Let's say that this wasn't a look of love.
We Feel Second-Hand Embarrassment for Whoever Designed This
This gadget would have stopped all class clowns from playing a joke on everyone by pulling the fire alarm. It happened so often in the past, which is why this school worked with an engineer to stop them. When you pull on the handle, your hand gets trapped inside. There is no escaping this fire alarm once it's activated. Surely, this thing actually stopped people from doing it.
Yep, this certainly feels like a gadget that would exist in the early or mid-1900s, so are we entirely surprised that this existed? Not really, but this woman seems way too happy to have her hand stuck in a trap.
What Planet Is This Guy Living on?
Tinder can bring about all types of fascinating people, and this person seemed pretty normal until their match realized they had zero knowledge of common terminology. This conversation kind of makes being alone not seem like the worst thing in the world, as long as it means not interacting with people like this. They might have read the text message wrong or were under the influence of substances because basically everyone knows what "transgender" means.
Most people generally know it means to be transgender, but recommending their match to search the term on Google just raised the amount of chat confusion to truly unmatchable levels.
That's Not How Fractions Work
The best part about the baking process is getting to eat whatever you made. The person that posted a review here about her husband not loving things that are too sweet basically made this recipe way sweeter than it should be. The recipe called for a quarter cup of sugar, and she decided to put in a third. Believe it or not, just because the number three is less than four doesn't mean that 1/3 a cup of sugar is less than 1/4. It's actually a lot more.
At least they seemed to have enjoyed whatever they made.
Dad Really Didn't Think This One Through
Every slam dunk is going to end with broken glass after anyone plays a game of basketball over here. Instead of adding a backboard, they used some slabs of brick that were already there. Maybe an actual backboard would prevent any potential disaster. This family will soon have to keep some kind of a tally on how many window changes they are going to end up doing.
Underneath a window is one of the worst places to put a hoop. Sure, most people don't have the space to put one, but this is just an easy recipe for disaster.
Not the Most Tech-Savvy Player
You would think that whatever happened here could only exist in the nightmares of every guy who considers himself a player. In the early days of texting, where qwerty keyboards were small and conversations were paid by the message, this likely wouldn't have happened. Today, flirting has been taken to social media apps where accidentally starting a singular group chat with every girl you know is easy, which is quite apparent based on this picture.
This situation is the definition of modern love life fails. Or maybe he really did intend to hit on multiple girls in his class at once.
He Suffers From Compulsive Lying
Lying is a natural part of life, and sometimes no harm is done because not all lies come with bad intentions. This guy wanted to get out of a conversation by saying he was going to shower while forgetting that he just said he went to shower. Could he have had a long day and stumbled over his words? Possibly. Was he just lying because he could? Maybe. We guess that's between him and his therapist.
Little white lies are, well, little. They also often go unnoticed by the person you're lying to. That was probably the goal here, but it seriously didn't work.
Where the Heck Are the Keys?!
Let's hope that this person soon discovered where his keys were before they went off and drove away, or else he'd likely never see them again. We're not sure how he comprehended that he had to unlock his car door with keys to get into the car, but who are we to judge? Things like this happen all the time to the best of us; just imagine the comic relief he'll feel as soon as he finds them.
We've all had those moments where whatever we lost was quickly found to be sitting right next to us. This is exactly what has happened to this guy, except there's a door in between him and the keys.
Ah Yes, the Old Saying, "no Pen, No Gain"
Tattoo spelling mistakes are unfortunately ever so common in this day in age. This especially happens when customers request things that are written in other languages. Also, some tattoo artists will just do whatever the customer wants, regardless of spelling issues. That is evidently what happened here unless they genuinely knew about the mistake and got this tattoo as a permanent joke. Truly, anything is possible.
It's possible that a language barrier was the cause of this mistake. They'll probably wish it was done with a pen and not a tattoo gun after realizing the spelling issue.
He Thought It Was Just Woody Allen Playing a Joke on Him
Sometimes, similar celebrities often seem to have identical facial and physical features. For example, when you think about it, Ryan Renolds and Ryan Gosling are basically the same person. The guy who got this signature went to an event for Woody Harrelson and handed him a Woody Allen book after asking for his signature. Clearly, this was a completely different person than who he was expecting to see that day.
It's easy to mix up celebrity names, especially when they're the same. Although Woody Allen and Woody Harrelson are entirely different and they don't have too many things in common.
You Don't Need Home Insurance When You Got This Security Setup
Most people take home security seriously since intruders and robberies happen so often. Any kind of fence usually helps prevent any of those situations from happening. These land owners had the right idea at first but didn't seem to get around to completing the job of building a feasible fence around their home. Also, we must point out the barbed wire around the top links, which was undoubtedly a comical addition.
This thing might only work to scare off any potential trespassers when it's completely dark out and vision is minimal. In the daytime, not so much. Hopefully, these people will invest in a complete fence at some point.
Happy Independent New Years
Since whoever wrote this was a young kid, we'll cut them some slack even though they thought the year would change on the fourth of July. It's actually super cute, and we're not sure if they were old enough to truly understand holidays in general back then, well, apparently not. Just to make things clear, the year does change on New Year. The first of January, in case you also forgot.
Whoever wrote and owned this diary was definitely under the age of seven, based on the grammar and spelling here, which is probably why they got their holidays mixed up, too.
That's One Way to Do It
A mother that purchased these jars for her kitchen must have mixed up the contents, despite the clear labels that already came with them. So, she decided to fix the problem with a permanent marker. This isn't the most practical solution, but it sure got the job done. Was this necessary? Not really, and she also might have ruined two perfectly good jars. Her son posted this picture in frustration.
Apparently, simply switching out the jars and putting the correct items inside was a bit too much work for this person, so they did the next best and impractical thing.
"Accessible" Bathrooms Be Like
Toilet paper is something that you want to keep close to you when you're using a toilet, especially in a hotel. It's a general rule that we all need to live by, or else you'll find yourself in an uncomfortable situation. Even looking at this picture triggers feelings of discomfort. It's not hard to imagine the number of people who had to wobble to the other side when being here.
The toilet paper might as well be a million miles away. It would still be just as unreachable, so whoever sits here is going to have to come up with a better solution.
Cyber Baby Is Always Watching
Technology is seriously advancing by the minute, but half-robot babies will hopefully never, ever be a thing. The one on this bus just happened to have what looks to be a robotic eye due to the way it was put on the vehicle, or maybe science has taken technology too far. Artificial technology is so great and has begun to change our world in a wide variety of ways. Cyborg babies will not.
Evidently, nobody thought too hard about the baby's placement in this bus advertisement. Thankfully, cyborg children are yet to be sold to the public, and hopefully, it will always be like that.
Ellen Got Roasted
It's almost like Ellen wants us to be surprised about a teenager that doesn't know how to use a rotary phone as if she didn't grow up in a different decade. Well, we're not surprised, and you likely aren't, either. It's almost like trying to get a ten-year-old kid to use a VCR, which makes no sense since they weren't even alive to comprehend it in the first place.
Sure, Ellen. Go ahead and pretend that technology doesn't advance through the decades. When you get the chance, we'd like to see you try to use a printing press. It shouldn't be too hard, right?
This Is Not an Optical Illusion
Somewhere, somehow, there is a room with a door placed about fifteen feet higher than the rest of them. There must have been some kind of error or change when it came to floor planning here, which would probably be the only thing that would make sense. There isn't even room for a staircase here. Maybe, this door is simply a portal to an alternate dimension in which the people are also fifteen feet tall.
Architectural mistakes are hysterical, especially when you realize that designers and builders didn't even have a second thought as they created something that will forever make absolutely no sense at all.
It Was Installed on "Take Your Child to Work" Day
Whoever stepped into this elevator and saw that all of the thirty-nine buttons were pressed probably wanted to quickly walk out of it. This could be the worst thing ever, especially on a bad day or when you're finding yourself already very late for work. It's worse enough when there are eight floors, but thirty-nine is just so incredibly painful. That's like thirty-nine minutes until you arrive on your floor.
It's likely that a kid got in here and started pressing the buttons. It's a fun pastime for anyone under the age of 13, yet a big inconvenience for adults.
That Marble Makes Us Think of Something Dirty
It almost looks like someone might have spilled something all over this counter and that it needs to be cleaned. It's actually just the style of marble that was chosen for these countertops. It was certainly an odd choice, and we'd like to ask the hotel designers why they went for this look. It's probably not even real marble and, based on the looks of it, might actually be plastic.
Hotel bathrooms have all kinds of weird patterns, from the carpet to the bedding, and obviously, this generalization also sometimes includes the bathroom counters. It looks like it could use a good scrubbing, but that's just the design.
Why Does Baby Jesus Look Like a Toe?
The fact that somebody thought that this was super cute and then hung it as a Christmas ornament is kind of shocking. It's a tiny, cocooned baby but looks way more like a dismembered toe from far away. It's not even the slightest bit realistic, which might be the problem here. Maybe it wouldn't look like a human organ if the blanket was a different color than the porcelain child.
This looks less likely a baby and more like a giant hairy thumb that's hanging from a Christmas Tree. The longer you look at it, the scarier it actually gets.
